Animal Hospital Kyeemagh

Kyeemagh holds barely a few streets at the mouth of the Cooks River, hard against the airport and the Botany Bay foreshore. Tucked away as it is, help is closer than you might expect: Rockdale Veterinary Hospital runs our animal hospital a short run down through Rockdale to 335 Forest Rd in Bexley, in Sydney’s St George area. That nearness is the point of this page. When a pet here needs more than a consult, the surgery, the scans and the recovery are minutes away. And for the hours we are closed, there is a clear plan you can read below rather than scramble for at midnight.

Fear Free Certified Professional

Diagnosis and Surgery Here, Not a Referral Letter

A consulting room can examine your pet and write you a referral. A hospital can find out what is wrong and treat it in the same building. At 335 Forest Rd we run digital X-ray, ultrasound and heart scanning, in-clinic pathology, vet dentistry and desexing, and surgery from routine procedures through to orthopaedic work, including TPLO repair for a torn cruciate ligament. Owner and head vet Dr Robert Kay does that surgical work himself. When a case genuinely needs a board-certified specialist we arrange the referral, but most of what your pet needs is already under this roof.

Rockdale Veterinary Hospital, a Few Minutes Down the Bay

We are a family-owned practice that has cared for more than 5,000 local pets since 2022. Dr Robert Kay is a Royal Veterinary College graduate, and every vet on the team is Fear Free qualified. That last part shapes the whole visit, not just the consult: we never scruff cats or muzzle dogs, dogs and cats have separate consulting rooms, and a standard appointment runs a full 30 minutes so a nervous animal has time to settle before anyone examines it.

When We’re Open, and Who to Call When We’re Not

We are open seven days, with long weekday hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 10am to 3pm, closed public holidays. During those hours, if something is wrong with your Kyeemagh pet, ring us first on 02 9123 6888 and we will fit an urgent case in. We are honest that we are not a 24-hour emergency hospital. When we are closed, after-hours emergencies are handled by Veterinary Specialists of Sydney, 106 Parraweena Road, Miranda, who run around the clock on 02 8376 8767. Worth knowing before the night you need it: from the bay it is a quick, ordinary drive south to us, well within the areas we care for in daylight hours, and a known number to call once we shut.

Book Your Kyeemagh Pet In

Booking takes a moment. Call 02 9123 6888, email team@rockdalevets.com.au, or book online any time. If your pet needs more than the routine general vet care in Kyeemagh of a check-up, tell us what is going on so the right people and gear are ready when you arrive.

What Kyeemagh Owners Want to Know

Line Separator

The honest answer is that it depends on what your pet turns out to need, so you get a clear estimate before anything goes ahead, never a surprise afterwards. If your pet is insured, we bill most insurers directly, so for treatment and surgery you pay only the gap rather than the full amount up front. Everyday pricing is kept accessible on purpose.

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. We are open seven days with long weekday hours, and after-hours emergencies go to Veterinary Specialists of Sydney in Miranda on 02 8376 8767, who operate around the clock.

A short drive. We are at 335 Forest Rd in Bexley, straight down through Rockdale from the foreshore, with parking on site. For a small pocket wedged between the runway and the bay, having a full hospital this close is the quiet upside, and it is exactly what counts on the day your pet actually needs one.
